If you are visiting this website, chances are that you either have already made the decision that it is time to let go of your pet or the time is near and you want to be prepared. You probably are looking for a way to make this process easier for your pet, to lessen any suffering, and make it painless and stress free. Above all, you are looking for a caring and compassionate person to be there for your pet and for your family during this difficult time. Your pet may have an end-stage disease, cancer, some other debilitating disease that is no longer responding to treatment, or he or she is just very old. He or she may have been part of your life for many years, may have helped you through tough times, has been a faithful companion. Now, you see it in your pet's eyes. The love is still there but you also see suffering.

Why at-home Euthanasia?

There is a huge difference between saying goodbye in the privacy and comfort of your home versus taking your pet to the vet's for that last dreaded trip. In a few words: compassion, caring, and comfort in your own home instead of an often stressful environment in a hospital.

You undoubtedly want your pet to be comfortable resting on his/her favorite bed with you in his/her last final moments. You want this moment to be quiet, calm, and for your baby to be in gentle, caring, kind and in loving hands.

Riley murphy

Dr. Holt was such a blessing during one of our most difficult times. Our Golden Retriever was very ill and I knew the day was coming when I would need to put his pain above my heartache. Dr. Holt regardless of her booked schedule that day said she would come to our home at 8pm. I gathered my sister, niece, and daughter as we all wanted to be with our Riley that night. When Dr. Holt first arrived she sat down with my niece and daughter and spoke with them in a way they could understand and she eased both their minds as well as mine. Riley was never in any pain and he simply went on to heaven in the most beautiful way anyone could. I could not and would not have taken him to an unfamiliar vet office and lay him on a cold metal table scared and confused and because of Dr. Holt I didn't have to. Dr. Holt arranged transportation to angel view that evening and made sure I didn't have to worry about anything other than my family and the loss of my best friend of 10 years. Unexpectedly the next day I received a text message from Dr. Holt asking how we were doing and more specifically asking about my daughter and niece. I was so touched by that. A week later she sent us a beautiful card in the mail with a personal hand written message! Words can not express what that meant to us. She is a truly amazing person! Thank you Dr. Holt

I can’t find where to write a review on your website so I will just send my thank you directly. I’m so grateful for your service and wish I could have done this for all my beloved pets in the past. I’m Cooper’s owner and he was really my mother’s constant companion over the last 3 years since we adopted him. Having lost my Mom just recently he symbolized the last evidence of her in this house and that made it particularly hard to see him go. Here is the very first time I met him at the shelter. Originally they circled "yes" to being able to jump a fence, but then scribbled that out and circled "no." Which just about sums up his timid, elderly personality. It always makes me laugh and tear up at the same time.

Dear Dr. Holt,
From the moment you walked into my door and looked into my eyes and touched my arm I knew that I had made the right decision .
JoJo came into my life almost 17 years ago at a very difficult time for me. My husband of 29 years has recently died of cancer. Our dog Freckles was devastated and would not eat is sleep and cried often. I decided to get a kitten . JoJo was feral and feisty and to be honest she never had much use for 2 legged humans. She always loved my dogs and spent her 17 years happy to do her own thing . She would kiss my dog Boo on the nose fairly often and would allow me to touch her head when she felt like it. As age took its toll I hoped that she would go to sleep and that nature would take its course.
I then decided on home euthanasia and was drawn to the name “ Say Goodbye at home” . I knew that I wanted to be with her at home as her life ended.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to you and Julie for allowing me to give JoJo the greatest gift of all by letting her leave this earth in a beautiful, dignified way in her own home. You are

Dear Dr. Holt,

Dr. Holt is a very special and compassionate veterinarian. Our beautiful 10 year old English Chocolate Lab was sick and getting weaker and weaker.  We all knew in our heart Shelby was suffering and not getting better. He gave all of us 10 years of Joy and Love; and as his life ended we wanted to be with him and comfort him as we said our final Good Bye. We all feel we gave Shelby the greatest gift to be home in the comfort of his bed and quilt. He was the most beautiful and amazing pet a family could ever ask for.

Dr. Holt came to our front door and immediately saw that we were in need of a hug!! Without hesitation, she scooped us right into her loving arms. From that moment on, we felt held by her.
